The Namutumba area has a chronic skills shortage and also a huge unemployment problem. The partnership has helped in three ways so far. /
1. /Set up a “Ferguson Enterprise” micro-loans system that will enable people in Namutumba start up a small business or expand an existing one. The loans accrue no interest but nee d to be paid back. A team in Namutumba is set up to vet applications.
2. /Helping to set up a fully functioning science laboratory with assistance on the equipment side from LABAID.
3. /Helping to build, furbish and stock a large Technology Block at Kisiki College in order that the school can widen its provision of much-needed vocational education with assistance from WORKAID for tools and equipment.
